Foggy Surfers: Capitola, June '16
The Californian summer is typified by foggy mornings that give way to hot, sunny, breezy afternoons. The stillness of the dawn patrol is in direct contrast to the noisy, lively, exuberant mid-afternoon. This set of images were shot on a particularly foggy dawn where visibility did not exceed 100 yards offshore. The languid rhythm of the Capitola wave, the wait between sets, the rush as the surf rolls in, the chill of the fog are elements I have tried to capture here.
